I'm a couponer

Yes. I'm one of those crazy coupon ladies you see at the register with wads of coupons in her hands. I don't care if it looks crazy. I'm saving LOTS of money. With a family of 6 and one of the bread-winners not always working (construction isn't the most reliable of careers), it's essential I do what I can to live frugally.

Every Sunday morning I have 5 newspapers waiting for me outside my door. I LOVE SUNDAY MORNINGS!! It's almost like Christmas when I pick those things up. I spend my early Sundays clipping and organizing my coupons. This is what it looks like when I'm in the process.

This morning I did it in record time. 1 hour and 15 minutes. When I first started, it took me several hours. Practice makes perfect and I've learned some tips that have made it go faster.

That was one of the yummiest Easter dinners ever. We did more than eat that day, of course . . .

Learning to photograph

When I first started taking portraits . . . real portraits . . . it was with my Canon point and shoot. I learned how to turn off the flash and use natural light. This is a photo of my oldest daughter, Alex. I have always considered this photo my first real portrait. I took it 3 years ago.

I have all kinds of critiques for these photos now, of course (the first being to move the subject away from the backdrop, they're way too close), but it got me the motivation to save up for my DSLR.

One photo at a time

Apparently, my photos are too big to upload more than one, so I'll do one at a time.

I did a photo shoot for a friend who is a figure competitor and is quickly becoming a HOT fitness model. I don't have a release from her for the photos I did, so I'll just post the one that doesn't show her face. I'm rather proud of the lighting on this one. Hopefully, she'll give me a release and I can post some of the others later. Really, she did ME favor in letting me take the photos. It was a great experience.

I've started many blogs here. I even maintained one for a couple years regarding my weight loss journey (see jeanniesroadtoskinny). But I have so much more going on in my life than weight loss. Like so many people, I believe that others may actually want to hear what I have to say (quite vain, I think), so I'm gonna blog about everything I think about.
